The main drain hose is located on the top right-hand side of your unit, above the Inlet water port. Use this article as a guide to double check your drain hose installation meets the requirements.
Drain Line Requirements:
- Your drain hose cannot be tee’d together with another hose. It needs to have its own separate path to the drain.
- Your drain hose must not exceed 8 feet vertically (from the floor) and 30 feet horizontally in its route to the drain.
- Your drain hose must have an air gap of 1 – 1 ½ inches between the end of the hose and the drain itself:
An air gap prevents water from backflowing up the hose and ensures proper drainage during the recharge cycle. If the drain hose is bent, blocked, or pushed into a drain (no air gap), your softener will not be able to properly drain and recharge itself.
