Hello! Wondering what a water softener does and how it can help you? Below, we walk through the benefits and how our water softeners work! Check out our available models at mortonwatersofteners.com.
Benefits
Our water softeners offer a range of benefits for your water, home, and wallet. Hard water contains minerals like Calcium, Magnesium, Lime, and Clear Water Iron. Signs of hard water include white buildup on showerheads, orange stains in toilets, and dry skin. Water softeners help with this. They can reduce these pesky minerals, protect your appliances, and leave your skin feeling softer.
These systems are also highly efficient. How are they so efficient? Well, they regenerate only when needed. This means they're able to track your water usage and adjust their cleaning cycles to match. This smart regeneration saves you money on salt, water, and energy. How It Works
Softening - Water softeners use resin beads, a special filtration media, to remove hard water minerals. The beads are negatively charged (-) and attract positively charged (+) minerals like Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron. As hard water flows through the system, the minerals are captured by the resin, delivering softened water to your faucets.
Recharging - Over time, the resin beads become saturated with minerals and lose their negative charge. To recharge, the system runs a cleaning cycle using a saltwater solution from the main tank. This process flushes the minerals out of the resin and down the drain. This process restores the beads’ negative charge so they’re ready to soften water again. Pretty cool, huh?
