Looking to replace the tank clamps? It's important that we depressurize the system first for this but don't worry, it's simple and you'll be finished with the replacement in no time. Let's get started!
1. First, you'll need to bypass the water softener by pushing the handle IN on the back of your unit. This will stop water from coming in or out of the softener while you work:
2. Now you'll depressurize the unit by running a Recharge cycle. You can do this by holding the Recharge button down until you hear the motor start to spin, and then release. You'll see ‘Recharge Now’ or ‘Recharging’ flashing on the screen.
3. Go ahead and tap the 'Recharge' button once. This will advance the motor and move the valve to the next position.
4. Repeat Step 3 until the ‘Recharge Now’ or ‘Recharging’ disappears from the screen.
5. Now you can unplug the power supply from the wall.
6. At this point you can remove the top cover. Check out Removing the Top Cover if you need additional help.
7. Now you've made it to the right spot! Go ahead and remove the two large white clamps from the neck of the valve body by releasing the clips that hold them together.
8. Take your new tank clamps, position them around the neck area, and then secure on each side with the clips.
9. On the back of your softener, you can now open the bypass handle slowly by pulling the handle back OUT, stopping every few seconds to allow water back into the system carefully. Once the handle is open, watch the neck area for signs of leaking.
10. Time to plug the power supply back into the outlet.
11. Last part here, you'll want to leave the top cover off of the unit for the next couple hours to monitor the softener and check for any leaking. You're finished!
